Mainboard Maker Epox Turns Into Supox.
Epox is Gone, Supox is Born
According to rumours around the Internet, once famous mainboard maker Epox has went out of business and its employees flee to form the new company named Supox. Epox has been struggling to survive for a long time and it is not a big surprise that it is gone now.
The whole mainboad product lineup of Supox resembles that of Epox, though, there are some additions too. Therefore, it can be expected that Supox does have ties with Epox, even though it is not completely clear whether the company, which was established back in April now owns manufacturing capacities of Epox, or just holds some intellectual property rights.
Epox became well-known among computer enthusiasts back in early 2000s, when its motherboards featuring Nvidia nForce2- and Via KT400-series chipsets became popular for their quality, overclocking capabilities and relatively affordable price. Unfortunately for the company, it did not manage to cement its success going forward and rather quickly became manufacturer of commodity products.
“With more than 15-year experience in computer industry field, our strong R&D team incorporates innovation and new technology in designing products. Our overclocking capability is well known among motherboard enthusiasts. And in addition to enhancing the performance, stability and cost-effectiveness are our values and keys to success,” the new company describes itself, which once again implies that Supox is not a totally new player on the market.
It is not exactly clear what happened to Epox and why the company, or its employees, decided to establish Supox.
But this is not a news that nowadays it is very hard for small producers of computer hardware to survive on the market and a lot of them either vanish into thin air, or get acquired by larger players.
