AMD je izdao Catalyste što znači da smo došli do broja 7.6. Novi Catalysti donose podršku za HD 2900, HD 2600 i HD 2400 serije grafičkih kartica, a još uvijek nema ni reči o hardverskoj akceleraciji video dekodiranja za HD 2900, kao ni UVD-a za slabije serije.Novosti su još i video capture za ATI All-in-Wonder seriju kartica sa podrškom za Snapstreamov Beyond TV 4.6, a za windows Vista Media Center korisnike te podrške još uvek nema. Poboljšanja su također napravljena i za Crossfire mod. ATI Catalyste 7.6 možete skinuti za Windows XP, XP 64-bit, Windows Vista i Vista 64-bit sisteme.
AMD has released a new ATI Catalyst software suite for the month of June. This brings the ATI Catalyst suite up to version 7.6. With the 7.6 version, AMD introduces video capture support for ATI All-in-Wonder graphics card.
The newfound video capture support is qualified for use with Snapstream’s Beyond TV 4.6. AMD leaves Windows Vista Media Center users out in the dark, as the application cannot make use of All-in-Wonder video capture hardware.
The latest ATI Catalyst 7.6 suite also introduces driver support for ATI Radeon HD 2000-series graphics cards, including the HD 2900, HD 2600 and HD 2400-series. However, AMD makes no mention of hardware video decoding acceleration for ATI Radeon HD 2900-series or UVD support for HD 2600 and HD 2400 cards in the release notes.
AMD includes the usual performance improvements in ATI Catalyst 7.6. ATI Catalyst 7.6 improves performance in Half-Life 2: Episode 1 and Dark Messiah Might and Magic. However, the performance improvement is only for ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT CrossFire systems. AMD claims there’s a 16% performance improvement with high-dynamic range enabled.
ATI Radeon users can download the new ATI Catalyst 7.6 suite for Windows XP, XP 64-bit, Windows Vista and Vista 64-bit.
